LNG deliveries not affected by gas leak at Sabah-Sarawak Gas Pipeline

LAWAS – Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) had confirmed that its LNG cargo deliveries were not affected by the gas leak incident at its Sabah-Sarawak Gas Pipeline (SSGP) located in Long Luping, Lawas, Sarawak on January 10 this year.
 
As a result of the incident, gas supply from Sabah Oil and Gas Terminal (SOGT) to Petronas LNG Complex (PLC) in Bintulu was stopped to ensure the safety of the incident site.
 
“However, gas supply to customers remain unaffected. Petronas as a reliable LNG supplier, with no missed deliveries since 1983, will continue to uphold its commitment to its customers,” said Petronas’ spokesperson.
 
The spokesperson said further that, investigations into the cause of the gas leak incident were ongoing.

Petronas is working closely with the authorities and community to ensure people’s safety at all times. – Bernama
