Hotel Aifa 2 will construct office building for LC

LABUAN – Hotel Aifa 2 Sdn Bhd will construct four units of office building for Labuan Corporation (LC) with a cost of RM10. 416 million.

The five-storey office building will be developed on five lots of land (1,488.429 square meter) owned by LC where the building will be equipped with several facilities including elevators.

Present to witness the contract agreement signing ceremony between LC and the hotel during the luncheon held at Hotel Aifa was the federal territory minister, Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.

The signing of the contract agreement was done between the hotel’s owner, Dr. Andy Lau and the deputy chief executive officer (development) of LC, Mohd. Zamri Mohd. Esa.

The proposal for the joint-venture project was approved by the cabinet on July 13 this year.

In return based on the agreement, Hotel Aifa 2 Sdn Bhd will develop a 14-storey hotel with a cost of RM62 million on a land (1,023 square meter) owned by LC where the project is expected to be completed within 36 months.

The 140-room hotel will be equipped with other facilities such as swimming pool, gymnasium and others.

The construction of the hotel will provide more rooms for the visitors coming to this island and contributing to the this island’s economic development, while changing the development landscape of Labuan.

Also present were the secretary-general of Federal Territory Ministry, Datuk Seri Adnan Md Ikhsan, Labuan Member of Parliament, Datuk Rozman Isli, Senator Datuk Yunus Kurus, deputy chief executive officer (town service) of LC, Rithuan Mohd. Ismail and the former chief executive officer of LC, Datuk Mohd. Nadzri Osman.
