Some 738 new students to enroll in UMS Labuan International Campus

LABUAN – A total of 738 students will pursue their studies at Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Labuan International Campus (UMS-KAL) in the end of this month.

The director of UMS-KAL, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murnizam Hj Halik told that 618 students from the total number would study in Labuan International Finance Faculty (LIFF), while the rest in Informatics and Computer Faculty (ICF).

“On this Sunday, the committee members comprising the senior students will welcome the new students at Labuan Airport, Labuan Ferry Terminal (for vehicles) and Labuan International Ferry Terminal.

“They will ride by bus provided by the campus to UMS-KAL for their registration,” he said.

Besides Dr. Murnizam, his deputy, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Geoffrey Harvey Tanakinjal, LIFF Dean, Dr. Hanudin, ICF Dean, Assoc. Prof Dr. Ag Asri Ag Ibrahim, the senior deputy registrar, Zamri Mohammad Tuah and the unit chief of student affairs, Nur Iman Reedzal would welcome the new students.

Meanwhile, many events would be held during the students’ orientation week from this August 28 till September 2, where on September 1 the students would take the students pledge in a ceremony to be held in the campus main hall.

Labuan Member of Parliament, Datuk Rozman Isli was expected to come during the closing night of the orientation week.
