LABUAN – Some talents in Borneo showcasing their talents in fashion design based on the theme of ‘Mystical of Borneo’ in Borneo Arts Festival (BAF) 2016 held on this afternoon at outside Labuan International Lawn Bowls Arena.
The winner in the fashion design competition was a designer from Sabah, Boyd Petrus Pensin with his fashion design concept of Olumis Borneo.
In second and third places went to Mohammad Freeze Adnan from Labuan with his Sound Tropica of Borneo concept, while in third place was captured by Iwan Tayan Iwantang from Sarawak with his concept of Puteri Lela Menchanai Legend.
Boyd bagged home cash prize totalling RM2,000, whilst Mohammad Freeze and Iwan received RM1,000 and RM800 each.
Meanwhile, there were also awards being given for the best makeup won by Shahri Matahir from Sabah, the best hairstyle award received by Mohammad Freeze, the best model award went to Ahmad Fikri Gompul from Sabah, the best model display award captured by Boyd, the best material award bagged by Mary Jane Bernard from Sabah, the juries selection award went to Aldrin Grame from Sarawak and the best concept award captured by Dexter Dylen Dustan from Sabah.
Present to hand over the awards to the winners was the wife of the deputy chief executive officer (development) of Labuan Corporation, Norfiazah Abdullah.
Also present was the director of Labuan Corporation Arts, Culture and Tourism Department, Mahathir Abdul Hamid.
