Three premises of foot massage including tour operator in Labuan town compounded

LABUAN – Some three premises of foot massage and tour operator here had been compounded today for not adhering the rules set by the Tourism and Culture Ministry (MOTAC), and Labuan Corporation.

MOTAC Labuan Office director, Vinson Embaran told that the three premises were checked during their integrated enforcement operation that was held since yesterday here in this island.

“In this operation, we want to ensure the premises here are not against the Tourism Industry Act 1992. We have checked to some eight spa and foot massage premises, and 15 companies related with tourism here,” he said.

The integrated operation was done with other government departments and agencies.

Meanwhile, some 15 summons and nine warnings had been issued by the Road Transport Department and traffic police to the road users for miscellaneous traffic offences.

In the operation, a foreigner without valid document had been detained by the Immigration Department.

Over 350 vehicles and more than 70 individuals had been checked during the operation.

The officers and personnel of Road Transport Department are on duty during the integrated operation.
