LABUAN – Despite criticisms from certain quarters, the Street Art Showcase (SAS) event is now reaching its fifth edition on yesterday.
A spokesperson for the event organiser told that it was their wish to turn the event venue at Taman Muhibbah as an art centre for Labuan.
“We are being criticised, but we pursue to organise this event for the sake of Labuan. All we want to do is to help Labuan especially in this current economic downturn.
“We do this event as our commitment for the society especially the arts community here in this island,” said the spokesperson.
The monthly event was organised by a non-governmental organisation of Labuan.
While, the deputy chief executive officer (development) of Labuan Corporation, Zamri Mohd Esa who visited the event on yesterday told that it was a new product of this island that could attract tourists visiting this island.
“It is a place to gather the local talents to showcase their talents in arts,” he said.
There were around 30 stalls opened during the event those selling their art works, handmade products, foods and drinks, and others.
