Borneo Amateur Challenge 4 (BAC4) in Labuan

LABUAN: Kickboxing and MMA fans are up for treat when the 4th season of Borneo Amateur Challenge will be held here in Borneo Combat Gym, Labuan Times Square on this Saturday, March 4.

More than 60 athletes of 19 teams from Labuan, Kota Kinabalu, Miri, Keningau and Brunei are expected to take part in this challenge which is sanctioned by the International Sports Karate Association (ISKA).

This triannual challenge has been listed in Labuan Calendar of Events 2017 by Tourism Malaysia with the aims to attract viewers and martial arts enthusiast across Malaysia and to make Labuan as one of the potential hub for combat sports event hosting.

BAC4 will highlight a Super 4 MMA semi pro fight featuring Ericcory from Keningau Mix Martial Arts, Mohd Nor Gani from Team Karabaw, Ijam from Tomoi Labuan and Lu Yi from Naga Kinabalu.





Meanwhile, another co-main MMA fight will also be competed between Joel from Sabah Top Team and Rizal from Team Karabaw.

This one-day challenge will feature 10 categories for Male K1 & MMA will and also six categories for Female K1 & MMA.

Registration and weight in session for participants will commence on March 3.

The preliminary rounds will be in the morning session and all finals and Super Fights will be on the evening session on March 4.





Among the participating teams are ADN MMA, Black Mamba Gym, Borneo Combat Gym, Borneon Tiger Mix Martial Arts, Hi- Tune Fitness Brunei, Keningau Mix Martial Arts (KMMA), Kinabalu Kings, Naga Kinabalu, Project Mayhem Brunei, Persatuan Silat Kombat Labuan (PASKOL), PSB Wellness Brunei, Revolution Gym, Sabah Top Team, Tomoi Labuan, Team Karabaw KK, Team Karabaw Keningau, Victoria Rugby Club, Warmonger, and 018 Brunei.





The event’s main sponsor is Best Mart Centre and co-sponsors are Boxxtomoi, Borneo Advance Marine, Fast Global Link, RB Gemilang PLT, STV Idea Enterprise, Victoria Baking School and Madam Elena Tan.

The cup for Super 4 MMA fight is sponsored by Keningau Mix Martial Arts (KMMA).
