Food fair at Layang-Layangan: Public invited to set up their stalls

LABUAN – All members of public here are invited to join the community fund raising food fair organized by Lions Club of Labuan Mandarin on this April 23 at Lions House of Love, Kampung Layang-Layangan.

The organizing chairperson for the event, Chin Kin Yin told that the event was open for all and those interested to set up their stalls during the day could do so.

“The objective of this fundraising is to cover the shortage of our expenses for our charity home – Lions House of Love,” he said during a luncheon today at Mariner Hotel Labuan today.

Chin who expressed his thanks to the generous contributors for the charity home project, disclosed that they already collected RM2 million since the project was started four years ago, but they still needed fund around RM800,000 before the home could be launched for the elderly folks as well as for the underprivileged children here.




He said further that the charity house was meant for all people from all backgrounds here.

During the luncheon, the president of the club, Jessica Lee and Chin handed over the food coupons for the fund raising food fair to the presidents of Hakka, Teo Chew and Foo Chow Associations here.

Also present was the district governor, Dato’ Lawrence Ting.
