LABUAN – From working on projects to meet the needs of local community to a community drive effort, the Lions Club of Labuan Mandarin is organizing a Community Fundraising Food Fair at the current location of “ LIONS House of Love” located at Kampung Layang-Layangan on this coming April 23.
The president of the club, Jessica Lee told that the objective of the food fair was to foster unity and collaboration between the community and local associations in joining forces to participate in the fundraising event to raise funds to complete the construction of the charity home for the benefit of the local community.
“By knowing that there is a need to build a home for the senior citizens or elderly and a skilled training center for special and underprivileged children residing in Labuan, the club did purchase a land to build a home called ‘Lions House of Love’ where the construction had begun four years ago,” she said this morning.
She also expressed the club’s gratitude and acknowledgement for the financial support and aids received from the general public that keep the home construction on-going towards completion.
While, the organizing chairperson, Chin Kin Yin told that as there was still a shortage of construction funds amounting to RM 800,000, they did hope to seek generous support and kind donations to complete the project.
He said further that the community food fair would be a time for the whole family to roll up their sleeves and enjoy fabulously diverse range of food and activities!
Food coupons are sold in books of RM100.
