Lions Club of Labuan Mandarin managed to raise RM250,000

LABUAN – Some RM250,000 was raised by Lions Club of Labuan Mandarin in their Fundraising Food Fair and Earth Day Celebration held in their charity home of Lions House of Love, Kampung Layang-Layangan on yesterday.

The amount was derived from cash donation and ticket sales.

“This food fair is opened from 9am to 1pm with 18 food stalls serving a variety of delicious local, ethnic and western cuisine, arts and crafts activities, collection of recyclables, tree planting, a basic medical check up corner and a charity car wash.

“I am glad to hear of the overwhelming response and collaboration between the community and local associations in joining forces to participate in this fundraiser and making it successful”, said the charity event organising chairperson, Lion Chin Kin Yin.

He further expressed the club’s gratitude to all the generous donors whom had contributed cash donations.

The charity event was organized to raise funds for its day care center (Lions House of Love) for the elderly or senior citizen and skilled training center for underprivileged and special children.

Also present to the event were Labuan Member of Parliament,
Datuk Rozman Isli, Puan Sri Seck Fong Yoke, Datuk Wong Kii Yii, Datuk Harris Annuar Tan and the club President Jessica Lee.

Jessica hoped that all the visitors walked away with a better understanding and appreciation of the club’s initiative for the benefits of the local community and the continuous generosity from the public in supporting the project.
