LABUAN – The chartered flight of Malindo Air, Boeing 737-800 with a capacity to cater some 160 passengers will make its first direct flight from Taipei to Labuan on this July 7.
Labuan Member of Parliament, Datuk Rozman Isli on yesterday told that the flight that would depart on 1.30am from Taipei was expected to reach Labuan at 5.20am on the same day with around 136 tourists.
“An agent that is responsible in bringing the Taiwanese tourists to here has informed us that the Malaysian Aviation Commission (Mavcom) has approved 11 direct flights between July 7 till August 13 this year.
“There are two types of package being offered to the Taiwanese tourists namely, five days and four nights stay in Labuan only, while the other one package is covering both Brunei and Labuan visits,” he said after meeting with the tour operators at a hotel here.
He who was also the chairman of Labuan Corporation said further that the same agent did also preparing to bring another tourists from Nanning and Kunming, China by using another airlines.
The tourists would stay for a night at Brunei first before riding by ferry to visit Labuan on the next day.
“There will be three flights in a week to bring the China tourists and the package being offered to stay in Labuan is four days and three nights stay.
“Our preparation to expect the tourists arrival from China has been made since last year. To promote Labuan and Malaysia is a national agenda where everyone has his or her own role to promote Labuan as a popular tourism destination,” he said.
Meanwhile, he urged the people to take care the tourism sites here in this island especially the beaches.
Labuan Corporation would cooperate to ensure the tourists arrival in Labuan where some tourism facilities and products here were being upgraded.
