Lions Club of Labuan Mandarin reached out fire victims in Limbang

LIMBANG – Lions Club of Labuan Mandarin had recently extended their help to some 16 families those affected by the fire disaster at Rumah Sateng, Kampung Meresam, Penganan here on June 10.

The club president, Lion Jessica Lee told that their club managed to collect some funds to provide support to the fire victims in the long house.

“Fourteen out of 16 families have lost all their belongings and homes totally where there are around 80 adults and 24 children staying in the long house.

“Our rural project’s objective is to help these people to get their lives back in order again.

“Luckily, through some generous donations from different sources and from our members, we are able to provide daily food supplies, bread, hygiene and care products, medicine supplies, stationeries, chocolates and other items,” she said.

During the visit, a few activities were organized such as basic medical check up, demonstration on proper brushing of teeth for the children, balloon sculpting for the children, tele-match for the kids and fellowship tea break with the villagers.
