LABUAN – Labuan International School (LIS) is organising Science, Mathematics and Language Week from this 24th to 28th July.
The spokesperson for the programme told that on July 24, a Science Show and Science Show was held from 10am to 12.30pm where students from each level would present their experiments and show.
“In programme today, each class did exhibit their project by applying the concepts of science and mathematics. From 10am till 4pm, an innovation challenge is held involving primary and secondary schools in Labuan. Cash prizes are offered to the winners in the challenge,” said the spokesperson.
For tomorrow (July 25) event, there would be Mathematics Day where the students would be challenged in their mind, body and soul to create models of city and to build up teamwork among all students from various levels.
On July 26, Science and Maths Busking competition would be held among LIS students to show their talent in a fun way whilst applying science and mathematics concept. This event would start from 10am to 11am and would be continued with games and an exhibition.
While, on July 27 was for Language Day to be started from 8am to 10am. There would be competitions such as storytelling, debate and others. These events involved participants from LIS and other schools in Labuan.
Then, on July 28, an invited speaker, Dr. Zaid Omar who was the winner of Famelab Malaysia would share his experience and the project that he has conducted. The public was invited to attend this talk.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson told that various games are being organised during this Week.
“Coupons are needed to play the games and for every successful game, a stamp will be given which can be redeemed for attractive souvenirs at the redemption counter,” said the spokesperson.
