Testimonial Day: LIS graduates shared their gratitude to teachers and parents

LABUAN – Some nineteen students will bid farewell to Labuan International School (LIS) this year after they sat for their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and IGCSE in this coming November.

During their recent LIS Testimonial Day, the students were given written recommendation affirming their characters, their academic and their non-academic performances.

Mirza Nur Sabrina Mohd Rizlan was selected as valedictorian to represent the graduates to express their gratitude to teachers and parents.

It was a heartwarming moment when the graduates presented a short video clip to display the moments for the class of 2016/2017 in how their growing together as students in LIS.

A form five student, Muhammad Amirul Luqman bin Jaffree told that he would like to thank all his teachers for their guidance and lessons throughout his 14 years of schooling.

“I hope my friends and I can pass our exams with flying colours and make our teachers and parents proud of us,” he said.

While, a Year 11 student, Esther Khiew Mei Fung thanked her parents for sending her to LIS as not only she did meet new people, but also gained her brothers and sisters.

Another Year 11 student, Len Bao Er also thanked her parents for giving their full support.

“I am so appreciative of them giving me the opportunity to study at LIS, where I have learnt so much to prepare for my future.

“To all the teachers, from those who have disciplined us to those who have inspired and pumped us up with motivation, I say thank you,” she said.

Meanwhile, the principal of LIS, Zainab Batin was very pleased with the class of 2016/2017 for their excellence.

“The batch of Year 11 have obtained 100 percent straight A for Malay as Foreign Language and she hopes that the IGCSE and SPM results will be also the strongest performance in the last five years.

“I am delighted with the high quality support that we have. The teachers are very dedicated and hardworking too by devoting to help and nurture the students,” she said, adding that the graduates must always put their energy, focus, faith, talent and time in building the foundation of their future and wished that they would achieve all the things that they were destined to be.

During the LIS Testimonial Day, the teachers were very touched when they were acknowledged by the graduates in their presentation.

While, the highlight of the ceremony was during the finale when the graduates were singing a farewell song entitled “Friendship”.
