Borneo Martial Arts Expo to be held on this 29th till 31st Dec in Labuan

LABUAN – Borneo Martial Arts Expo (B-MAEX) will be held on this coming December 29 till 31 at Palm Beach Resort here.

This event, presented by International Sport Kick Boxing Association (ISKA) Borneo promises to be larger than ever, with more attractions, exhibitors, and live tournaments.

The founder and director of B-MAEX told that the exhibition aimed to provide an opportunity for martial arts practitioners or combat sport athletes to compete in positive atmosphere on national and international levels.

“It is also to cultivate the core values in martial arts and to boost the sport tourism for Labuan as a potential hub to host such event in Malaysia.

“Apart from this, we wish to enrich public awareness on health benefits of learning martial arts as a form of self-defence and fitness.

“The ISKA B-MAEX is a great opportunity martial artist from different branches and backgrounds to come together to demonstrate their talents and skills to the public,” he said.

He further said that this year’s event, however, would feature an unprecedented number of combat sports tournaments to satisfy any martial arts practitioner and enthusiast including kick boxing (K1) for pro and amateur category, mixed martial art (MMA), forms and weapons, and breaking.

Also on hand at the expo will be super for fight, where champion will be awarded with cash and first ever ISKA 57 kg title belt.

Labuan home-grown fighter, Sunny N.Sabornido will be competing in this category and he is the first deaf professional fighter in Malaysia

This three-day event will be held run from 8am to 11pm daily, and will be capped off by live K1 ring fight and MMA fights.

Besides the K1 and MMA fights, there will be live competition on forms and weapons, and breaking.

On the second day of the event, there will be seminar featuring well-known speakers namely, Joshua Edgar (Director, Sport Colesium), Master Khoo Meng Yang (representative of ISKA SEA), Alan Pond (ISKA Australia), Nazri Abdul Razak (president of Sabah Muay Thai Association), Master Adey (018 MMA Brunei), and many more.
