Labuan must be an effective opposition voice

May 12, 2018

After Barisan Nasional’s (BN) fall from power, Labuan must accept that this island is now considered as an opposition state though some voices defending that it is under Pakatan Harapan (PH) area, but only the representative from the opposition coalition.

Such opinion is sound weird as any constitution in Malaysia that is won by opposition will be called as an opposition area.

The case might be different in Putrajaya parliamentary seat that is won by the former federal territory minister, Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.

Putrajaya is the centre for this country administration, but is being represented by Tengku Adnan, which is now from opposition party.

The fact is Labuan is not even a centre for any administration in this country.

By the way, the result of the just concluded election must be accepted and the people in this island should get back to work to contribute for this island further development.

And of course the people of this island do highly hope that their representative – the Member of Parliament will do his job as an opposition effectively for the betterment of this island as well as his people’s well-being.

His voice must be loud enough to get attention from the newly formed Pakatan Harapan government.
