LABUAN – A total of sixty five parents and teachers took part in a three-hour workshop conducted by a certified clinical hypnotherapist, Joyce Hue held at Labuan International School (LIS) recently

The spokesperson for LIS told that the workshop was part of LIS’s continuous effort in empowering parents and teachers to have a better relationship with their children.

“In the workshop, the participants are taught into the way children’s minds work and the different parent-child relationships. By understanding what type of parents they are, they learnt effective ways to communicate with children by applying the five love languages in daily life,” said the spokesperson.

Joyce who was coming all the way from Kuala Lumpur told that parenting can be categorised into four styles: authoritarian parents, authoritative parents, permissive parents and disengaged parents.

“This workshop provides few tips to help parents to connect with their children better,” she said, adding that she did guide the participants to find out their love language.

The five love languages of children are physical touch, words of affirmation, quality time, gifts and acts of service.
