LABUAN – Some 411 participants had recently joined in the LIONS Charity Fun Run in aid of LIONS House of Love.

The five-kilometre run that started as early in the morning was flagged off by Labuan Member of Parliament, Datuk Rozman Isli who was accompanied by the club president, Chin Kin Yin and the organising chairperson, Alden Wong.

This LIONS Charity Fun Run was sponsored by the Lions Club of Labuan Mandarin to benefit the home for the elderly and skilled training center for special children.

Each runner was given a shirt and a finisher medal upon completion of the fun run where some 21 lucky draw gifts were given away with the main prize of a 49” TV.

Wong was thrilled with the support of the local Labuanites and neigbouring Lions Club members from Sabah and Brunei as the money raised from the run was amounting to RM19,000.

Proceeds from this charity run would be channelled to the LIONS House of Love.

The building had been completed but yet functional as it was still lacking in funds to fully furnished the rooms  and complete other minor areas.

It was estimated that another RM500,000 was needed to put the house in order.

Lions Club of Labuan Mandarin thanked their main sponsors for the fun run such as One Stop Duty Free, Mariner Hotel Labuan, Syarikat Alat Tulis Labuan and Innatech Sdn Bhd in making the event successful.
